Recent Incentive Changes

20 August 2020

Federal Tax Credit

As of April 1, 2020, plug-in electric vehicles manufactured by General Motors are no longer eligible for the federal tax credit. The phase-out began on October 1, 2018 and has been incrementally reduced from the maximum credit by 50% every six months. This means that buyers of the Chevrolet Bolt EV will no longer be able to take advantage of this incentive.

Clean Vehicle Rebate Project

California’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) has received an important update. As of April 14, 2020, participants who receive a grant and/or financing from the Clean Vehicle Assistance Program (CVA) are now eligible to participate in the CVRP. Prior to this update, participants of the CVRP could not stack eligible rebates offered by the CVA towards their EV of choice. The CVRP states that to be eligible for both programs, the EV must be new and on the eligible CVRP vehicles list.
